CALABASH EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The Emergency Management Committee (EMC) is comprised of dedicated volunteers, staff and elected officials committed to establishing procedures to manage the Town of Calabash in the event of an emergency. The most common threat to our coastal area is the threat of hurricanes. Therefore, the EMC has developed in-depth plans for preparation and response to hurricanes. However, the EMC trains for all kinds of possible emergency events. The EMC meets at Town Hall on the last Tuesday of the month at 11:00 AM. Like all other boards & committees their meetings are open to the public and the public is encouraged to attend meetings and educate themselves on how to prepare for emergencies.
